On the morning of 26th June, Anqing Foreign Language School’s International Department held the parents’ meeting of the study-abroad class and the graduation ceremony of the 11th-grade study-abroad class. All the students from the 10th-and-11th-grade study-abroad classes as well as students and parents from the new study-abroad class attended this meeting.
First of all, head teacher Yao Fengling from the 10th-grade study-abroad class reported the conditions of the class to parents. She not only displayed the featured learning contents and activities of the study-abroad class, but also pointed out the existing problems in some students’ study and life to put forward requirements for them to further propel and improve themselves. In addition, Dr. Jia-Yi Cheng-Levine with Grand Canyon University introduced the Fast Track Project to University of California and the general situation of overseas studies of students in the study-abroad classes over the previous years. Meanwhile, our outstanding overseas graduates He Yong and He Yinfeng shared their experience in the USA and transfer experience as well. Afterwards, they patiently answered some questions raised by parents.
Second of all, on the occasion of graduation, students from the 11th-grade study-abroad class had mixed feelings. Student and parent representatives from the 11th-grade study-abroad class made speeches successively, expressing their thanks for the teachers’ hard work, unwillingness to part with classmates in addition to expectations for the new learning journey. What’s more, Director Xu Zuitai with the International Department delivered a keynote speech in which he affirmed the progress made by students in the study-abroad class and put forward hopes and requirements for them.
